Sunsets and Sharing

Here I come again, poking my head in the door for a quickie before I roll on back to the land of Manwhores, work and summer chaos.

The writing has been a little slow the last two weeks, because hours upon neverending hours of my non-work time were sucked into the void of exploring, finding and procuring a used vehicle that we could afford without living indefinitely on all-ramen, all-the-time. I mean, I’m all about the ramen now and then. It got me through college. But they say even it is going to cost more when the aftermaths of this year’s heat and drought hit the grocery stores.

So Manwhore was neglected, but not entirely. I’ve probably added another 7,000 words since my last update. I am about at what I’d consider the halfway point of the storyline. That’s a milestone that feels pretty darn good.

In other news, a few tidbits I wanted to share:

1. I now have an author page on Amazon! I know that for many of my writer buddies, this is an old hat kind of thing. But it is a new step for me, and so I’m as sparkly about it as an angst-ridden teen drama vampire. Please pay me a visit there!

2. I’ve also delved into the world of Pinning as a way to archive and share thoughts, favorite things and other stuff. I’m still holding firm to my  “no playing on non-book” stuff rule at home. But Pinterest is something I can futz around with on a 15 minute lunch break in the office, just spending a few minutes thinking about stuff that makes me happy enough to share it. Again, I know I’m way behind the game compared to most of you, but wanted to share my Pinterest page as well.

Pam on Pinterest .

And last but not least, I wanted to share a sunset that came to visit as I sat on my deck one night last week.  I hate the neverending hot, muggy weather this summer has brought. But even I have to admit the sunsets that have come with it have been stunning.

Is it just me, or if I hadn’t just told you this was a sunset could you imagine it to be waves crashing on a beach, just slightly obscured from your view by the treeline?

Welcome back, Pam! Sorry I haven’t commented before. Good luck on the writing, and thanks for sharing your picture – beautiful sunset. And Pinterest is great as long as you’re careful with the copyright thing:)

  2. Beautiful sunset picture! I love Pinterest, but don’t go on very much. I’m afraid of getting lost in there! And congrats on the author page and the half-way there mark. It’s important to celebrate all those milestones!

Thanks Lara! I can totally understand how one could get completely lost on Pinterest! I am totally limiting my time there to a 10-15 minute work break. The last thing I need is a new distracting when I’ve done so well minimizing the old ones : ).

  3. Good to hear from you, Pam. Stole your sunset to add to my desktop rotation. Hope you don’t mind.

Hi,Pam! Glad to see you! The sunset is gorgeous, but you’re right, it could easily be taken for waves crashing! Congrats on your novel progress and your Amazon author page! Heading there next. I’ll echo Stacy in being careful with the copyright thing at Pinterest. I haven’t pinned anything new lately, but having trouble with the thought of taking my boards down again, just to be safe. What a bruhaha!
Have a great month and stay cool!

Sorry I haven’t been around much lately, but my book, The Bellman Chronicles, will be FREE to download on Sept. 10 – 11! Check it out on my Amazon Kindle page.. You won’t be disappointed. And if you can slip me a review, I’d be forever grateful…
